As we look ahead to #RemanDay2022 on the 14th April, we are extolling all that is Remanufacturing and what it means to us.
So what is Remanufacturing?
Remanufacturing is the process of taking old and worn core material, dismantling and cleaning the product, identifying and replacing any damaged components and then testing the reassembled product. What you end up with is a product that is at least as good, if not better, than the original product that we started off with.
What are the benefits?
One of the biggest selling features of Remanufacturing is the positive impact it has on the environment versus building products from scratch.
As remanufacturing uses most of the material from the original product, there are less raw materials needed and if there are less raw materials used, then there is less energy consumption, which in turn means that there is a reduction in CO2 emissions.
There is also less material sent to landfill as the material is in use for longer and is given a new lease of life.
Another huge plus point is that the remanufactured product is typically 60-80% of the cost of a brand-new product which offers our customers a cost-effective and sustainable alternative, safe with the knowledge that the remanufactured product is tested to the Original Equipment standards and returned to the original manufacturer’s factory specification.
A remanufactured product can also have a significantly shorter lead time than brand-new and also extends the life of equipment that is no longer in production.
After celebrating 51 years of this key part of our business, we pride ourselves in the work that we do and look forward to continuing our partnership with our customers; present and future.
